Description

Spiked Water Milfoil (Myriophyllum Spicatum) Native

Spiked Water Milfoil (Myriophyllum Spicatum) is a native, sub-merged pond plant which makes an excellent oxygenator. The long, slender trailing stems have whorls of delicate, feathery, green or brownish leaves. It also has tiny flowers with red petals which are held vertically on a spike an inch or so above the water surface in summer. An attractive and useful water plant.  Goo for slow moving streams and slow-moving water as well as ponds and lakes.  Provides good cover and shelter for a range of aquatic wildlife and the stems provided a place for dragonflies and damselflies to lay their eggs.

  • Grows in still or slowly moving water.
  • Recommended for small ponds.
  • Thrives in full sun to partial shade.
  • Helps to keep pond water clean and healthy and provide a good ecosystem for a variety of wildlife.
  • Supplied in weighted bunches which you can simply drop into your pond. We suggest two bunches per square metre of water surface.
  • Water depth: 25-75cm (10-30 in)
  • Hardy does not need protection during the winter.
  • Contact us if you require more information.  We are available Monday to Friday from 08:30 am and 16:30 pm and also via our email.  Our plant team will be happy to help with any queries you may have.
