Nymphaea Pigeon Blood (Dark Pink)
Nymphaea Pigeon Blood (Dark Pink). A beautiful free flowering dark dusky pink water lily with bright yellow stamens. It is a heavy bloomer so it needs space to grow and bloom making it suitable for large ponds. The petals contrast beautifully with the bright yellow centre and and dark green coloured pads. The flowers have a pleasant fragrance and are also produced late into the season from June to September. The leaves provide shade across the pond from the sun helping with the prevention of algae. Lily’s are also very beneficial to aquatic wildlife as the pads providing shelter for aquatic wildlife and resting places for visiting insects and pollinators .

- Planting depth 30 – 90 cm from the rhizome to the surface of the water.
- We would recommend a planting basket of at least 22cm across planted with aquatic compost and pea gravel or horticulture grit on top of the soil to weight the lily down
- Position in full sun this lily needs a minimum of 6 hours of sun per day and keep away from any moving water.
- Water lilies are heavy feeders and benefit from a slow release fertilizer specially prepared for aquatic plants such as Growth Balls which can simply be pushed into the soil.

- We ship all water lilies bare root, this means that we wash the soil off before packing the plants. During the summer months we may need to trim some of the foliage back for shipping.
