Aruncus ‘Horatio’ (Goats Beard)

Aruncus ‘Horatio’ (Goats Beard) is a wonderful moisture loving  perennial with lush fresh green foliage which produce a stunning mass of elegant long thin white-cream flower spikes and makes an impressive display when planted in groups. It as a Hybrid cross between Aruncus aethusfolius and Aruncus dioicus created by Ernst Pagels.  Horatio will grow to 1 meter in height with a width of 50cm the green foliage creates an amazing soft texture in spring which compliment the feathery flowers in summer and turn a wonderful shade of red giving you colour in the autumn. This is a wonderful plant for attracting pollinators to the garden and moths blooming from early to mid summer.  Perfect for growing in bog areas, moist beds and boarders and also patio and containers and can be planted directly into the ground.

  • Plant in full sun to part shade
  • Flowers between June and July
  • Likes medium to wet soil moist and well drained
  • Grows to a height of 1 metre and a width of 50cm
  • This plant is hardy
  • Cut back the old foliage in early spring before the new leaves emerge
  • Goes well with with ferns and Hosta’s
  • Easy to grow and maintain.
