Nymphaea Gold Medal

Nymphaea Gold Medal.  A beautiful yellow water lily with free flowering pale lemon double cupped flowers and a darker rich centre. Suitable for medium to large ponds as well as lakes. The petals contrast beautifully with the dark green mottled pads and the blooms stand high above the water. The flowers have a pleasant fragrance and are also produced late into the season.  The lily pads provide shade across the pond from the sun helping with the prevention of algae.  Lily’s are also very beneficial to aquatic wildlife as well as the pads providing shelter for aquatic animals and a resting place for passing insects and dragonflies.

  • Spread  (110-125cm).
  • Wild Life friendly.
  • Planting depth 40 – 90 cm from the rhizome to the surface of the water.
  • We would recommend a planting basket of at least 22cm across used with aquatic compost and grit/pea gravel to weight the lily down.
  • Position in full sun away from any moving water.  Position where the lily will receive 6 hours of sunlight per day for best growing conditions
  • Water lilies are heavy feeders and benefit from a slow release fertilizer specially prepared for aquatic plants such as Growth Balls which can simply be pushed into the soil.
  • Product Code: NY055
  • We ship all water lilies bare root, this means that we wash the soil off before packing the plants. During the summer months we may need to trim some of the foliage back for shipping.
