Texas Dawn water lily (Nymphaea ‘Texas Dawn’)
Texas Dawn water lily (Nymphaea ‘Texas Dawn’) A connoisseur lily, with beautiful mid-yellow flowers and speckled leaves. With the yellow centre being surrounded by rich yellow inner petals giving way to outer petals which have a pink blush. The blooms are stellate (star like) with long narrow petals and they measure 6-8 in (15-20 cm) across. It flowers throughout the summer to early autumn and also has a delightful, lemony fragrance.
- The leaves are green and the young leaves have purple speckles. They are round in shape and the lobes on larger leaves generally overlap. Leaf size is 8-9 in (20-23 cm).
- Spread 72in (180 cm)
- Planting depth 20-90 cm (8-36 in) of water above soil level
- Position in full sun in still water.
- Highly recommended for medium to large ponds.
- We would recommend a planting basket of at least 22cm across.
- Water lilies are heavy feeders and benefit from a slow release fertilizer specially prepared for aquatic plants such as Growth Balls which can simply be pushed into the soil.
- We ship all water lilies bare root, this means that we wash the soil off before packing the plants. During the summer months we may need to trim some of the foliage back for shipping.
