Description
Common Arrowhead (Sagittaria sagittifolia)
Common Arrowhead (Sagittaria sagittifolia) is a native shallow water marginal pond plant. This plant has attractive, interesting, arrow shaped, leaves which give it its common name. Pretty delicate white flowers with purple centres from June to August. This plant naturally reverts into a bulb form after flowering in the Autumn so please note if purchasing in the early spring this plant will be a bulb, which is perfectly fine to plant up in your own pond to develop the new roots. The new growth starts to show at the end on May. Perfect for smaller ponds and container gardening.
