Curled Pondweed (Potamogeton crispus) is a native, oxygenating pond plant. Wavy-edged, strap-like leaves grow on long, wiry stems. The leaves are red when growing in a sunny spot but if growing in poorer light conditions tend to stay green. In early summer, small, pinky-white flowers appear just above the water’s surface.
A good choice for the smaller pond as this plant does not become invasive.
