Medium Starter Pack – No Lilies – Native. At Wetland Plants we often get asked about starter packs without lilies, so we have put together this attractive package. This pack is suitable for medium size ponds and contains only British native pond plants. It is also a great way to get your pond going and start to attract wildlife into your garden.
The pond starter pack kit includes:
2 Water Soldiers (Stratiotes Aloides). This is a floating water aquatic pond plant. Floats on the top for part of the year. Flowers late spring to late summer and also provides good water coverage. Will sink for part of the year and resurface.
1 Typha Latifolia. Marginal plant. Long cork like flower flowers in summer to late Autumn. Good habitat for wildlife.
3 Nymphoides peltata – Water Fringe also known as Floating Heart. Attractive heart-shaped mottled foliage with bright yellow fringed flowers. For the deeper water area of the pond.
22 Native Marginal water plants. A selection of twenty-two native plants which are suitable for the shallow water areas, together with labels and planting baskets. These will be chosen from native pond plants that will give a variety of habitats, form, height and colour and thus make an interesting display.
16 bunches of native oxygenating plant. – oxygenating pond plants are essential for keeping the water healthy.

Please Note:
- Please note that we will choose the plants according to suitability and availability at the time of ordering. We are unable to accommodate individual requests. This pack represents on balance a saving on the price of ordering the plants individually.
- This pack does not contain aquatic soil which would need to be ordered separately. We would recommend 30L of aquatic soil for this pack.
- We ship all of our plants bare root. This means that we wash the soil from the roots prior to shipping. During summer months we may need to trim back some of the foliage for shipping.
