Charles-De-Meurville Water Lily
Charles-De-Meurville Water Lily (Nymphaea Charles de Meurville) is a wonderfully attractive lily. The large flowers of these water lilies have deep pink outer petals deepening to burgundy red towards the centre with bright orange stamens. Whilst beautiful to look at lily’s play a vital part in creating underwater habitats for aquatic wildlife. They provide shade from the sun and resting places for aquatic wildlife and visiting pollinators.
- The leaves measure 25cm (10in) across
- Spread 120-150cm (48-60ins)
- Flowers from June to September.
- This is a vigorous water lily therefore we recommend it for medium and large pools.
- Planting depth above soil level 60-90cms (24-36ins)
- Position in full sun in still water.
- Fully hardy during winter when submerged and the rhizome can be planted at any time of the year.
- We would recommend a planting basket of at least 22cm across.
- Water lilies are heavy feeders and benefit from a slow release fertilizer specially prepared for aquatic plants such as Growth Balls which can simply be pushed into the soil.
- We ship all water lilies bare root, this means that we wash the soil off before packing the plants. During the summer months we may need to trim some of the foliage back for shipping
