Colorado Water Lily (Nymphaea ‘Colorado’)

Colorado water lily (Nymphaea ‘Colorado’) is a pretty medium sized, variable water lily changing in colour through peach to red. The blooms are a beautiful shape and colour and stand 7.5-10 cm above the water. The soft pink outer petals shade to light peach on the innermost petals and there is a yellow centre to the flower. Stellate (star-like) in shape, the flowers measure (7.5-10 cm) across with twenty-six to twenty-eight petals and also have a very pleasant fragrance.  Suitable for growing in medium size ponds it is very versatile and provides a great habitat for aquatic wildlife.

  • A very prolific bloomer that will flower late into the season.
  • The nearly round leaves with their open sinus measure 5-7 in (12.5-18 cm) across. The foliage is medium green in colour while the newer leaves are a more olive green.
  • Spread 36-60in (90-150cm).
  • Recommended for a medium size pond.
  • Planting depth above soil level 24in (60cm).
  • Position in full sun in still water.
  • We would recommend a planting basket of at least 22cm across.
  • Water lilies are heavy feeders and benefit from a slow release fertilizer specially prepared for aquatic plants such as Growth Balls which can simply be pushed into the soil.
  • Product Code: NV020.
  • We ship all water lilies bare root, this means that we wash the soil off before packing the plants. During the summer months we may need to trim some of the foliage back for shipping.
