Astilbe chinensis Pumila

Astilbe chinensis Pumila also known as the dwarf Chinese astilbe is a moisture loving herbaceous perennial.  Attractive pale pink flowers in summer on top of dark green leaves which can sometimes have re d tinges.  Seed heads turn brown in the Autumn and can be left to provide winter structure.  Suitable for planting in bog gardens, moist boarders and containers.

  • Height up to 30cm
  • Position in full sun to partial shade.
  • Plant in moist well drained soil.
  • Flowers between July and August.
  • Wildlife friendly.
  • Cut back after flowering or you can leave the flower heads on to provide structure.
  • Will become dormant during the winter months protect in very cold weather.
  • We ship all of our plants bareroot.  This mean that we wash the soil of prior to shipping.  During the summer months we may need to trim some foliage back for shipping.
